I pop onto the forms now and again and it scares me how prejudiced some people are towards Hampton. Lots of relocating mums seem to be persuaded out of moving here because some idiot who doesn't really know the area says its 'too near to Feltham' or 'scummy' or 'full of Chavs' Well, having lived here for 12 plus years, I can honestly say how nice the kids are round here, how unpretentious and grounded they are, and how excellent both the primary and state education is. I do think the Mumsnet is a great service, but please, people, get on a train and visit these places, do not listen to hearsay. The big benefit of this area is that it is perfect for raising young kids, with lots of parks, good primaries, and a very good brand new academy. It is a proper London village and always has been, with very well integrated add kn buts such as Hampton North, which nobody seems to have any time for. It nas a good lical feel to it and many sensibly stay on here and know that they are onto a good thing, yet still 40 mins from the capital. Hmm...in fact, I am going to shut up now before we get a Hanworth Starbucks and Baby Gym set up!
