Sheffield solicitors/removals/mortgage advisors

Hi everyone

We seem to have accidentally bought a house. Well, we put in an offer and it was accepted when weren't really expecting it to be!

So now here we are, elderly first-time buyers, in need of a good solicitor, a mortgage advisor and removals recommendations. Competitive prices important but I'd rather choose good/reliable over the absolute cheapest.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks :-)

I would recommend Taylor and Emett solicitors, and Grace at Eastwood & company (mortgage advisor). I've never used a removal company so can't help there. Good luck! We're just starting the process of selling our first house and considering making an offer on another, I'd forgotten how stressful it was!

Thanks hefner. I've asked elsewhere too and that's 2 all love/hate Taylor & Emett! They're convenient for us but sounds like it all depends on who you get whether or not it's a good service. Hmmmm.

Hi Mij, Foys at Chapeltown did my conveyencing when I bought my house. The person that handled it was lovely and responded promptly to my emails. I can give you her name if you want to message me. Not sure if I should put it on the internet.

I would highly recommend Specialised Movers of Sheffield, they did my last move, they were excellent and made the whole thing so easy.

Thanks everyone will follow up.

Shellbot I've checked out Foys & that's the second rec I've had so don't worry about putting a name up Smile. Big help.

We bought our previous house with Taylor Emmett and they weren't great tbh. They told us our house was leasehold and we later discovered it was in fact freehold.

This time round we used Coates in mosborough and i can't praise them enough. We had a few problems with our buyer and Lindsay at Coates was brilliant at sorting whatever came up. They were pretty competitive too.

We used V G removals based on a friends recommendation and they were excellent. I can't do links on my phone but they're based in rotherham.

If you look just outside sheffield you might find the prices a touch more reasonable!!!

I can also recommend a surveyor if you're interested too.

We're in Sheffield and moving too!

If you are still looking for a good mortgage adviser, Stuart Carnall @ Andrew Stuart & Co were excellent for me.

I was then put in touch with Rachel Laing @ Wosskow Brown. She seemed efficient and well priced! Hope This helps
