Help - new kitchen fitted and I only have 2 pan drawers

New kitchen has just been fitted and went to look at it today (we've been living with the in-laws while it's been done). We only have 2 drawers in the whole kitchen (pan drawers). I had assumed looking at the 3d drawing that the supplier provided that the base units included drawers but they don't. Is it too late to swap one cupboard for a drawer unit or are we left with what we've got? Dh will no longer have a 'man drawer' if this is the case!

What make of kitchen is it?

Our base units are the same for both cupboards and drawers (ikea kitchen) so changing one for the other would be fairly straightforward.

Have the shelves taken out of one or two of the cupboards and replaced with wire baskets or "inner drawers"
I actually prefer these to too many drawer units, I reckon you can fit stuff more in.

eg here or here

If you are tight for cash order some Metabox like these and your fitter should be able to add back, sides and front, they just won't be full extension.

Your supplier should have a choice of things like this in their range.
They are not especially cheap but then neither would drawer units have been IYSWIM.

I meant also to say, if you want proper drawers with fronts, they should be able to supply and fit some into one of your base unit carcases as they are all a standard width, you'll just be left with a spare door and the fitter will have to measure up for the runners rather than it all being pre assembled, hopefully this will not be beyond them!

It's odd that they haven't even designed a cutlery drawer for you ?! If they showed drawers in the perspectives / plans then they should have supplied them ?!
If you want to email the drawings you have over to me - I'll go through them if you like - see if they have duped you or at least see if I can offer a solution !

thewookieswife thanks for the kind offer. I'll do that later if you don't mind. Tbh I've not been at all impressed with the supplier all the way along. Without naming them they are very handy when sticking things to metal iyswim! We've got a cutlery drawer which pulls out over the pan drawers otherwise I really would be annoyed. It's just all the little bits like batteries etc that you need to store somewhere I'm struggling with

I'm trying to sort my kitchen out now - but can't get it sorted. Right hassle!

Not enough drawers would be a pita!
