Any info on living in Cheddar,Somerset?

Hi,
Anyone live in Cheddar? we are looking at moving to Somerset from Bristol and we like the look of Cheddar.The schools look good, does anyone have any info on whats it like to live there?

We're moving a few miles from Cheddar in a few weeks time. We're renting first as we dont know the area at all. On my brief visits I have found the traffic to be incredibly busy, pretty much all day long. This means we wont move to Wedmore as I previously thought, as it will be really tedious driving 30 mins to school each day.

Hoping someone else has more advice!

whilst I don't know Cheddar v well, I've driven through there a few times and live not far from there, but i'm always driving in the Wells direction. Definitely good schools but Cheddar itself has never appealed to me.

There are loads of lovely surrounding villages (rural), but perhaps you want shops etc. Have you considered Wells? Wells is nicer than Cheddar. Or indeed Wedmore as Sunnyshores mentioned. Wedmore has shops, pubs and is lovely.
