3 bed tradition semi up for 179k lovely home but very old fashioned. 2 houses on same street sold last year both extended into 4 beds- 181k and 186k.
What would your opening or final offer be?
We've accepted an offer from 1st time buyer btw

How long has it been on the market.

A house is worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay for it. If it's your forever home and you love the area, then you might offer asking price. If it's somewhere to do up and move on from in a few years, you would probably want to go in with a low offer, £160 - £165K with the reasons why it's only worth that much to you.

If it's been on the market for a while it's not going to sell today, although I suspect if you were to offer £160K the agent might mysteriously suddenly find another interested couple for you to get into a bidding war with.

Thanks both its been on the market about 3 weeks another couple interested apparently but they've not offered. I'm thinking of putting in first offer around 162k Which I don't think is too cheeky?

I would go in at 165k.

formicadinosaur · 01/08/2013 20:46

I wouldn't go any higher then 160

Turnipinatutu · 01/08/2013 20:57

Yep, 160 sounds a good starting point.
