Clear glass in bathroom window?

Pros - view over garden is nice.

Cons - although garden isn't particularly overlooked (house behind us is approx 260ft away), 1 neighbour could see in if they were in their garden! Therefore would need to use a blind when showering.

I bought a transfer that frosted our window it looks really good and was inexpensive

We've just had our windows redone. Old bathroom window was a clear sash window. Had to have blind over window all the time but could lie in bath and look outside (just couldn't get up/out without doing blinds. Now we have bottom half of the window frosted and upper part of sash clear so it's best of both worlds. Suppose it depends how bothered you would be to have to open/shut/clean the blind/how mortified if neighbour did spot you if you forgot to move the blind I'm shameless and don't care . I do like being able to see outside from the bathroom personally.

I have a similar dilema but the window is too small and too low down to cover half, and I really don't want a blind or frosting on it.

Our old house had clear glass and no blind but the bottom of the window was 5ft up and we were on a hill so only passing birds could see in. I miss that window!

I'm going to do this when I have the windows replaced in my bathrooms. I'll put thin blinds up for when privacy is required but realistically that's only in winter when the trees aren't in leaf.

Thanks for your replies. I like the idea of looking out over the garden whilst I'm brushing my teeth but must admit I'd hate neighbour to see me starkers! I don't think half frosted would work for us, but it is a good idea! Our builder said he's never had a build where someone has clear glazing in bathroom/ensuite. Need to decide within next few days so interested to hear any more views. TIA

I was wondering about this in the en suite in our loft conversion. I'm pretty sure nobody could see in, but will probably wait for the stairs to go in and then go and stand in the right place and see what I think. I would love to be able to look at the view while I showered.

My previous house had clear glass in the bathroom.

As I see it, I am more often in the bathroom fully clothed than when I am naked :)

I'm in Australia, and the houses I've rented/own have clear windows in the bathrooms, one with ceiling to floor windows on the ground floor!!

It's nice to look outside, and none were overlooked.

I absolutely love not having to have frosted glass and being able to look out. I'm guessing house up the road might see something if they had binoculars

I weas horrified when we moved into current house and it didnt have frosted glass in the bathroom - but actually now I much prefer it.

We put frosted glass and I wish we hadn't - you still need to use the blind if you want to be sure people can't see 'outlines' but can't see through it either - worst of both worlds!
