We plan to sell then buy so avoiding a chain. But what else do we need to think about? We are in Eastern Europe so can travel back occasionally for long weekends but will avoid if possible. I'm already investigating mortgages (which I know are less available for expats but as a British Crown Servant paid in UK I'm hoping to avoid major issues). What other potential problems do I need to think about?!!
