plain white tiles

my husband has got some bright ideas about tile colours to "offset the colours of the bathroom". planned bathroom is grey walls, grey sparkly floor as yet not sourced, white suite. I was going to go for plain white and have a crisp look. he suggested a nice grey Hmm

it is for our en suite which will complement the blues and greys of the bedroom. other bathrooms so far will be bright pink and bright blue.

any other colour suggestions?

I have very little to recommend, sorry, except to say that plain white tiles on the bathroom floor are a pain. We have them and they're virtually impossible to keep clean. I would have grey on the floor in a heartbeat.

Don't know if that's of any help at all.

We have white tiles with a very fine grey pinstripe in our ensuite. They are rectangular, and from porcelanosa. The walls will eventually be a pale grey, the suite is white, and the floor is also a light grey.

Try and get your way compromise with white tiles and grey grout?

SquinkiesRule · 30/07/2013 19:40

He wants grey, grey and grey? Yikes thats a bit much grey and dull. I'd do white tiles on the walls and grey sparkle floor and white suite, maybe a grey strip in the tile somewhere to break up the white.

thanks - wall tiles I mean, I've seen that white floor tiles are a no if you are slovenly.
yes grey grey and grey. he is clearly mad Grin
I might be able to compromise on a stripe do you reckon waist height? and should I break away from grey?

He does seem to like his grey so maybe a stripe will appease him. What is the usual high for an accent stripe? I thought it was closer to 3.5 or 4 feet, maybe higher, not sure.
I love the idea of sparkles in the floor I was to see that. I have two bathroom floors to do in the next year. Is it some sort of Lino?

poocatcherchampion · 31/07/2013 11:42

I haven't found the sparkles yet - but I will! and I will share too..

You can get tiles for the floor with sparkles in them. They are called stardust and come in black with silver sparkles and white with gold sparkles. Various sizes as well. Topps tiles do them and a few independent retailers.

Excuse typos!

poocatcherchampion · 31/07/2013 19:41

I'm def going for lino on the floor but thanks for the tile recommendation. I want warm and we can't do under floor heating as we are cheap. Grin
