Dodgy render temporary fix?

Hi all not sure if anyone has any thoughts on this. ..

The render has blown on some areas of our house causing water to get in in random patches midway up our dining room wall. we're looking at several thousand pounds to have it all replaced which we can't afford.

I have two queries really:

  1. Does anyone know if it's possible to have only the blown parts of the render replaced? the render is at least 15yrs old however. .

  2. I've recently discovered designer radiators and was wondering whether something like this:

m.wickes.co.uk/mt/www.wickes.co.uk/decorating+interiors/radiators/icat/radiators/#navradiators

might work as a temp solution? my thinking is that the heat from the radiator might dry it out before it comes through to the paintwork? We found that another radiator in the house was keeping a separate damp problem at bay in this manner when we moved the radiator!

Any thoughts?
