Help! Looking at a few mortgages before putting our house on the market. We've been to Halifax (our current provider) and an independent advisor. I called Virgin this morning to get an illustration, but they said if we wanted one with them that they would need to run a credit check. Would that harm our chance of getting a mortgage if perhaps we decided not to go through them? We still have one more advisor to see as DH just found out he gets some financial services discounted through his work.
