Does anybody have these and did you have any problems if you are in a conservation area?

Thank you :)

If they are plastic then you are likeky to struggle in a conservation area- its the material as well as the design that's important.

I take it you have original timber ones? You can get them restored and draft stripped which does make a difference warmth wise. You could secondary glaze?

If I'm honest plastic windows put me off properties and could devalue your house.

We looked at these and in the end went with Bygone Collection. They are upvc, but with a wood-grain effect. Finished being installed last week and we are really pleased with them.

Have already had someone ask if they were timber or not! Apparently they are accepted in some conservation areas, but its best to check first.

More expensive than Rehau unfortunately... They also make timber framed ones if your area insists on timber. We looked at this, but it was a further 25% on top, and as we aren't in a conservation area (but wanted to put the sashes back as they'd been removed in the 80s) we didn't feel it was worth it.

Where are you based? Some companies do engineered timber which is allowed in certain conservation areas :-)

Bedfordshire :)
