Thin glass in summer house doors - can I make it safe?

Just bought a house with a little summer house (not sure what to call it, fancy shed?) in the garden - first thing I noticed when we got the keys was that the glass in the doors seems very thin, and the panes of glass are all the way down the doors - exactly the right height for small child to put their hands through!! Does the whole thing need to go or can we do something about it?

You can buy a plastic safety film that sticks to the glass. Not sure where from though. B&Q?

We bought sheets of perspex and screwed them over the windows on a cold frame to make the football accidents less likely. We have a perspex manufacturer close by so I had a choice of thickness, plus they cut to shape, including screw holes. The same company cut sheets so we could stop the DVD player being used as a post box by the toddler...
