Shower stuck on scalding hot!

Hi, to my shame I don't know how my shower works, so I might not describe this right. Sorry this is long, any help gratefully received.

Shower is about 6 years old, from MFI before it closed. It is a mixer shower, I don't know if it is thermostatic or not. Tank is in the loft, but there is also a pump.

Shower is all in one unit, so the turny on thing is visible and the temp dial thing is joined on the front of that.

The turny on thing has dripped for ages.

Now the temperature thing will hardly move, and only scalding hot water is coming out! I can't tell if it is in the scalding hot water position IYSWIM.

I took the front off and squirted 3in1 in. Temp thing has moved slightly, but still cannot turn it to cold.

Can anyone diagnose what is wrong, and a DIY fix? My worst fear is having to get a new shower, as we would have to retile.

Thanks!

Try turning the thermostat down on the actual boiler. Mine has a separate water temp controller, yours might too?

Thanks Pinkje, we have done that which is a good short term solution.

Not sure why it would suddenly break, or how to mend it?

Hi, if you take the faceplate off the shower then turn the dials lower this should work.
