Log cabin??

Hi,

I wanted to get a single storey extension with utility room but that appears to be in the range of £30,000-£50,000 and I can't get hold of that amount and also far more than I thought it would be.

So I was thinking of getting a log cabin in the garden and a shed to throw the tumble dryer into so that it is out of the dining room.

Any thoughts/recommendations? I really want an extra room for guests to stay in so I don't have to either give up my bed or have my son sleep in with me.

Thanks

We're going to be getting a garden office for dh when we move, and green retreats have some lovely ones.

One thing to consider though is the toilet arrangement if you use it as a spare bedroom - if you have a toilet installed then you have to get planning permission (you don't if its just a room of a certain size) and if there's no toilet then will it be realistic for guests to traipse into the house to do so?

Oh didn't realise you need planning permission for toilet, thanks for that info. My gardens not massive so the traipse in and out wouldn't be too bad and it would only get used as that very occasionally possibly only 5 times a year.

My other thoughts were to get a caravan as they have toilets in and I quite like the idea of doing one up.
