spluttering water

I had some work done on my cold water supply on Friday and up to now the hot water tap in my cloaks is still spluttering and after the water in the pipe has run out it stops running then drips and splutters. I'm guessing it is an air lock. Anyone got any idea how to solve this. The cloakroom tap is at the end of the run.

We had this and the plumber took a hose and connected the cold water tap to the hot water tap and turned on the cold water and used it to "blow" the hot water pipe back through to the tank - worked a treat!

I think ^ makes sense Confused

Looks like I will have to get plumber back then. I would try the hose thing myself but I would have to go out and buy a hose and jubilee clips first. Why the heck couldn't he test the hot water system when he finished the work on the cold water feeds. Surely this is a common problem when such work is done? Prat

got the plumber back this morning and basically he did the same as who-jamaflip's plumber only made a big drama of it. I was prepared to refuse payment for the second visit but he didn't ask.
