Desperately seeking a house to buy in N10,N8 or surrounding areas

We are looking for a family home (min 3 beds house) in Muswell Hill, Crouch End or surrounding areas. Have a budget of up to 800k, but we've all but given up finding anything through an agent. We're ready to move, are you thinking of selling or know anyone who is? Please let me know.

Thanks

D

Good luck, I know anything nice moves fast and if you are needing access to schools the catchments are tight.

We sold earlier this year in muswell hill and had lots of people looking and offering in a very short time and we weren't even advertised in the estate agent or online, everyone who viewed was already on the estate agents list and waiting for houses to come up, so I hope you are well know to the local agents rather than just looking online.

Hmmm, I've been pestering them since March. Out of interest, who were you marketed with?

Our neighbours just sold a house within your criteria and it was the same as Itscoldoutthere says, lists only, no board even. They were Winkworths CE.
It does seem to be a fast market this year, maybe it'll calm down a bit. Good luck

KFH we only got listed after we had moved (as a sold property), no board, no website didn't even get a full set of details printed.

It all happened very quickly with offers within 10 days, we where in catchment for Coldfall and Fortismere which helped (everyone who looked had primary or younger children so school was a big draw and of course our house was lovely Grin)

Ahahahaha, lucky buyers! everything we've seen is awful. Funny enough, I just had "the call" about something. At the time of our price range and needing work, but it's in the catchment for Rokesley, so here's hoping!

I'll pester KFH and Winkworths again today.

We love Ali Pali, great schools, amazing open spaces and that train line's brilliant foe work, but can't afford the roads I like! Albert, Victoria, Princes Av. There's a hige houss on Victoria Road, but it's 65k over budget and we don't need anything that big.Hoping something might come up that is slightly smallee and hasn't been done up yet... Dream on... Will call JHK though, as I haven't tried them yet. Thanks for the tip.

Have you tried leafleting roads you like? We used to live in Crouch End and regularly got letters through asking if we were thinking of moving. Other than that, I'd be going into all the local estate agents on a regular (ie weekly or more often) to get my face and needs known.

Itscoldouthere · 11/07/2013 01:29

Yes JHK are weird as you can't see everything on their website, they feel like a more old style estate agent, but they do get some interesting property on their books, so I'm sure it's worth getting to know them.
One query on the Bounds Green side of MH has anything changed / developed on the proposals for the waste plant??

Seen it. Twice. Not the Edwardian home of my dreams, and it's not that big, although the garden is a lovely size. Think it may have to be a maisonette.

I hope you find something, if anything gets sent through to me, that's not on the books, I'll let you know.
