By dropping a crock pot into it! (Don't ask) Blush

Do I have to replace the whole thing, cistern et al, or do I just get a replacement toilet?

I think you can just buy the bottom (sorry!) bit separately from the cistern. B&Q are having a half price sale on bathroom stuff at the moment I think.

I'm not sure you can buy just a loo, and if you can, you'd need to make sure you got one that fit, as they're all different

A quick search shows you can and for just [[http://www.diy.com/nav/rooms/bathrooms/cooke-lewis-bathrooms/cooke-lewis-toilets-bidets/toilet_pans/-specificproducttype-close_coupled_pans/Valencia-Close-Coupled-Pan-White-9294827?skuId=9304523 £30! as long as it fits

You have to make sure the cistern and the toilet pan fit otherwise they leak. It happened to us when a plumber mistakenly fitted the wrong pan and cistern - they were the same make but slightly different models. It would probably be better and nearly as cheap to replace both bits at the same time.
