Boot Room: converting the dining room

I've decided that our rarely used dining room is pointless.

We really need a big space for all our shoes, boots, coats, bags, suits etc.

I'm going to convert the dining room into a boot room.

Now, I need must haves, as it were.

I've decided for example, against pegs for coats as a rail will take a lot more and the clothes won't keep falling off like they do with pegs.

Big floating shelves with baskets for boots, shoes etc.

Tiled floor for hygiene.

Is there anything else I should incorporate?

TIA

Look at boot rooms/utility rooms on Houzz I lust after the space to incorporate some of the ideas on there.

I'd add storage for sports and PE kit/simming gear/book bags/mucky trainers.
Perhaps a large crate each, labelled>
I thin shoe racks are probably easier than baskets on shelves?

How about including a storage space for DIY kit and things like lightbulbs/spare loo roll etc?
