I find the purple Aussie house quite comforting, when the aspirational colour is blah with contrasting ironbark grey. In a country where the light screams for colour, it's battleship grey all the way.

Thanks Scone - I may well take you up on that offer! We've been out here nearly 8 months, so the house-hunt is starting to hot up, given that we're starting to outgrow our rental place (and contract renewal looming) :-)

Flow4 - I was weighing up how many tins of paint it would take to do inside and outside, and then make good some of the interesting 'decor' adjustments and then just lost the will to live. Glad to see that it's under offer, so no doubt someone else made the cost-benefit assessment in their favour!
