Do you think a small belfast sink could work well in a bathroom?

As the wash basin I mean.
I would like a nice deep wash basin, cos I often wash my hair in the basin, and could use it for hand laundry.
Has any one done this, and what would be the disadvantages?
Can't find a bathroom basin I like, solid traditional square shape, any tips?

My sister's house has square washbasins so they are available. However, if you have a water meter you might like to think again. eg if washing hands in a washbasin with the plug in the amount of water you need in an ordinary washbasin will barely cover the bottom of a square basin and you need to run it deeper in order to immerse your hands.

We've got one that shape from ikea about 9 years ago. I don't know if they still do anything like it, but it's certainly big enough to bathe a baby - and we wash our hands under running water rather than put a plug on.

I used to wash my hands under running water before I had a water meter

Dont you think they are a bit kind of 'scullery' ?

Thanks for replies.
Yes, I'm beginning to agree that it would use too much water.
Am now researching traditional smaller basins.
Yes it is a bit scullery,HH, but our whole bathroom is a bit like that! but I quite like it.
thanks all

We have this Bauhaus basin air 60 which looks fantastic and is a bit more bathrooms than a Belfast sink. I will try to upload some pics

I believe by some miracle I have managed to upload a pic although getting that pic the right way up appears to be beyond me

I did the interior of a restaurant up and we used mini Belfast sinks in the loos mounted on granite with industrial looking brass taps. Looked brilliant. Will try to find where they were from in my records.

Bathstore and Ikea certainly both do square basins.

Instead of forking out for an expensive square basin, you should go for something that is practical, like this
