Gahhhh! Rotten floor under the conservatory!

Completed on Friday, due to move in next Thursday. DH went up to the house today to get all the cabling in for internet/tv/sound system and found a spongy spot when walking on the laminate in the conservatory (right by a window so easily missed). Pulled up the laminate to discover there was a drain under there with pipes routing from the guttering and it is not done properly so has been overflowing and the timber supports are all rotten :(

So he has ripped the whole thing up and spent £400 on wood to redo it. There was also a big fitted cabinet that had to be destroyed as it was too heavy to lift so there goes that storage.

So he will now be spending the weekend finishing that and installing the shower etc so I have to finish packing by myself with 2 kids.

Bugger bugger bugger.

Arrggh what a nightmare.

We had similar, but it was the whole wooden conservatory that was rotten :( it could be worse :)

Oh no! That must be soooo frustrating! Hope you get it sorted quickly and without too much expense, Angry.

Thanks :) DH and a friend of his should have the new floor fully laid tomorrow. Because we have to get rid of the fitted cabinet the laminate is now useless so we are getting carpet. The whole thing with the skip needed to get rid of the old floor will have cost us £1k. Nightmare. Oh well hopefully nothing else will go wrong for a little bit!
