Fluorescent Tube Recycling

DH and I have just moved to a place where there are loads of fluorescent tubes. We detest them as lights so we have removed them, but we can't find a place to recycle or dispose of them. I have googled with no success as everywhere seems to only be willing to take small low energy bulbs. Any ideas? I am in Hackney.

your local dump, I mean recycling centre should have facilities to take them. Every one I've been to (moved around a lot) has a long metal box somewhere on the premises.

if they are working try them on freecycle too.

thanks. Hackney's local dump is Islington. Seriously, that's what they say when you go to their website.
