am ftb, put in offer on a house a month ago, this was accepted, had survey, mortgage offer etc, and all seems to be going through. But i have noticed since i started looking, approx 3 months ago, asking prices seem to be on the rise. This is cambridgeshire borders. Are other people finding the house market is at last imoroving a tiny bit. Hope my purchase continues to go ok, as i could not afford some of the prices i am now noticing for similar properties.

I was told 2 days ago that yes, they are....(in a rather random conversation!)

StitchAteMySleep · 29/06/2013 09:07

In the south of the UK yes.

wonkylegs · 29/06/2013 09:19

Depends where you are. No idea about your area but where we are moving they still seem to be creeping downwards. I've had 35 price reduction emails this week alone.

carolthesecretary · 29/06/2013 09:44

Not sure they have done anything but rise around here (South East).

TwasBrillig · 29/06/2013 09:46

I think they might be rising near us. Which is kind of a pain as we've put off climbing the ladder for 2 years!

BoundandRebound · 29/06/2013 09:46

Ours have gone up year by year . No dip at all

flow4 · 29/06/2013 10:06

EAs have told me they look like they're starting to rise, but I can't see any sign of it myself...

53% (II) down in Northern Ireland. 12% down in Scotland. 5% up in London. I think that was what the latest survey found this week so very very mixed and as 90% of people do not live in the SE prices are for most people falling.

Not in the East Midlands - or the certain part I am looking at.

Houses that were bought in 2007 for £210k are trying their luck on the market for £190k but then reducing after a few months to £180k and selling.
