bedroom above garage

Has anyone got a bedroom above a garage that is warm and, if so, is it because of extra insulation. The only two rooms I've experienced above a garage have been very cold and wondered if that is the norm as looking to buy a house which also has a bedroom above garage. The house is 20 years old so not too old.

Our third bedroom in old house was above the garage - it was much warmer than our room, which was above the living room!!

My bedroom when I was growing up was above the garage - no extra insulation as far as I know and I don't remember it ever being cold. Also, my PIL's have a bedroom over their garage and again I have not noticed a difference between that room and the others in the house.
