How to find a reputable surveyor? Can anyone recommend one for East London?

Hi

We'd like to arrange an independent homebuyers report. We don't wish to use the bank's surveyor as we've been advised to go independent.

Can anyone tell me how I can find a trustworthy surveyor? Or can anyone recommend a good surveyor that covers East London?

RICS ( royal institute of chartered surveyors) website will link you to a chartered surveyor in your area.

We used Alexander Lyons when we wanted to buy in se22. The surveyor was so thorough the survey made for very bleak reading and we dropped out entirely! Which may be exactly what you want so give them s try if that appeals.
