Pls recommend a colour for my daughter's bedroom!

We need to choose a colour to paint our baby girl's room. I was going to go for f&b skimming stone but worry it might be too cold for a bedroom.

Calamine looks like it might be nice but is it too pink? I don't want it to be too cliched, and while I like pink I think there are plenty of other feminine colours.

Elsewhere in the house we have greys and beiges...

Any great ideas? Please inspire me!

We painted DDs in Middleton pink which is more subtle then Calamine. She originally had White Tie as a small baby.

I would go for a buttery cream (pointing /tallow in F&B if that's your thing) with navy and then tiny pink accents meself.
Usual mnqh disclaimers apply

Laura Ashley Chalk pink is lovely. Dd has chosen it for her new room with pale gold and cream accents.

a light teal's nice
or...there are some lovely wallpapers which will grow with her

We are doing our dds bedroom/nursery in mainly grey with dusky pink and pale blue. We are going for shabby chic so it's very girly but not too bright and over powering.

Ooh, Olivia I love the idea of navy accents, but not so sure about buttery cream. The previous owner had every room in that colour with very dated furniture and it ruined it for me.

Ken: Middleton pink looks quite baby pink on the cards. Is it not?

Chartreuse, I will check out Laura Ashley chalk pink, thanks.

Anyone used F&B Calluna? Looks like a nice lilac-y colour?

driedapricots, that wallpaper is lovely but dont think we can face wallpapering! Might try something like that for blinds though.

Willough, your room sounds gorgeous!

We used Dulux Just Walnut in our DD's room. She is 2 and a half. It is a lovely pale grey/beigey colour (greige) and manages to be a warm grey.

It is really nice and goes really nicely with pink accessories etc but at least it is not a really girly colour if she wants to change the accents in a few years.

We ended up doing one wall with the harlequin 'what a hoot' wallpaper in the pinky themed one. That goes really nicely with the paint and adds a bit of femininity without being OTT.

Ps my inspiration came from the girls bedroom page in The Little White Co catalogue! It's that sort of neutral colour.

IHeartKingThistle · 17/06/2013 23:15

We have Skimming Stone in our bedroom and Just Walnut in the spare room. Both lovely and not cold.

However DD's nursery as a baby was in Dulux Parrot Green 4, it's currently custard yellow and she now wants it repainted in either rainbow stripes or half pink/half red. I am not the sort of person you want nursery decor ideas from Grin.

Sorry had to abandon and go to bed while she was asleep! Thanks all, this is helpful. I think I need to get some samples! Some of these sound lovely.

Sunny, just walnut sounds very nice. I was trying to look at the Dulux colours but got overwhelmed with the sheer number of them! I will check that one out.
