Commuting to London from Dorset

Hi Smile

I used to live in Dorchester and loved living in the county. Now we live in the SE - but it still feels too close to London for me.

I wondered if anyone out there makes the daily commute from Dorset to London (and where from in Dorset).

Is it doable?

Hi there,

I understand the pull to return to Dorset! But I dont think travelling every day is really possible even on the fast trains from Poole/Bournemouth.

How about moving to Wiltshire, the Pewsey Vale has the beautiful open countryside like Dorset, Devizes is very much like Dorchester with independent shops, and from Pewsey its just over an hour to Paddington.

Or Salisbury is lovely, and only 30 mins to Dorchester. Its train is just over an hour to Waterloo. And house prices are cheaper than Dorset!

Or how about the Somerset/Dorset borders? Look at the Waterloo to Exeter line from Salisbury onwards.
Very doable but also a pricey commute.
