Moving to Cornwall next year

I'm really excited about moving down to Cornwall from up North, but quite nervous about leaving a lovely home and family too. My husband lived in Cornwall years ago and we visit very regularly so it like home for us.
I am looking forward to making a fresh start and new things in life but have two young boys to think about too and starting my 6 year old at a new school. My partner has a business which he will be taking with him so will be very busy.

I would love to hear from anyone who has moved location, Cornwall or otherwise and you found leaving for a different life.

Thanks :-)

Hi, we moved down to Cornwall nearly 10 years ago. We now have a son, who's nearly 5 and it's a great place to live. We're just a few minutes from the sea, in a lovely, friendly village with an "outstanding" primary school. Downside is the the remoteness. Both my DH and I have to travel for work and it takes us 1 hour to get as far as the Tamar and we both use Bristol Airport rather than more local ones (Newquay and Exeter) due to limited connections available. Another downside is if you are reliant on the local economy for work which is often seasonal and poorly paid. However, we love it and it suits us very well. Where were you thinking of moving to?

Hi, great to hear from you. We love the St Agnes area, so been looking at property in villages between Truro and this part of the coast. The schools look very good and as a creative person, I love the Arts community which seems to come through on school websites too. My DH is in the garden maintenance business so hope that this should be as successful in Cornwall. May I ask which area you moved to?

Hi finleymummy,
Have you thought of checking out the Mumsnet Cornwall site?

Thank you for that x
