Removals: how many hours?

We are moving this week - professional removal company, but we are packing.

Fairly normal 3 bed house/household.

How many hours do you think for them to load/unload? I reckon 3-4, but dh thinks considerably longer.

we are moving soon too. Ours is an average sized 3 bed semi, I would, say we have slightly less stuff than average to move. The removal co said they would be with us by 8am to aim to be out of the house by 11.30 to 12. So I would think about the same amount if time at the other end :)

Our removals co did our 3 bed in just under 2 hours, that was with 3 men.

I'd say about 3 hours to either load or unload unless there are things which are particularly difficult. I think on our recent move from 3 bed semi to 3 bed terraced it took about 2 hours for each part with not too much furniture. But I'd assume half a day, so if they're arriving at 8 or 9am, assume they'll be gone by lunchtime.

The removal company if you are buying/selling rather than rent to rent should always be out by 12.
I run a removal company, if they needed to take more time they should have gone in the day before and part load it

Thanks all. They are part loading the day before because it's a 300 mile move, which is a long drive in a removals van!

Then they will be out quite quick as they will be under the driving laws on hours. If your not happy with anything then tell them, there job is to make ur move easy. X

our loading was nearly 3 hours, two chaps, everything packed and good to go. It was a bit of a challenge to fit it in the van which slowed them down.

they arrived at 7am as it was four hours to the other end.

3 hours to load if everything is ready to go. 1.5 to unload much quicker as don't need to fit things in.
