Looking to buy in Burgess Hill - any tips on family friendly areas?

Hi,

Me, DH and DS (almost one) are looking to move to Burgess Hill area.

Please can anyone advise on which areas are particularly family friendly? I'm thinking schools, play parks, indoor play places, etc... Basically near enough the station for my husband and stuff to do for me and DS!

We need a 2 bed house but 3 bed would be better - our budget is under £250,000 (the closer to £200,000 the better). We need to be within about a mile to Burgess Hill or Wivelsfield.

Thanks in advance - it's so hard to know where to look without any help!

I have family living near Burgess Hill. There are plenty of new builds which are aimed at young families, but I think they tend to be further out of town, so getting to the station might be a pain. Wivelsfied is on the mainline but not all trains stop there which may also prove a problem. Burgess Hill has a fairly modern leisure centre (the triangle) and a Tesco, both of which are a bit out of the main town. The shops in BH are varied - waitrose and lidl plus others. I do feel when I visit that area that it is rather spread out though. Have you considered Hassocks or Haywards Heath - both on the mainline.

Hi, thanks for your reply. From our initial research we thought we wouldn't get much for our money in Hassocks, and thought that Haywards Heath seemed a bit bigger and spread out... But I don't know much! Thanks for your tips re. BH, it's very helpful. How about schools?
