Is around £430 a decent price for having patio door glass repaired?

That's about it really. We need to replace the glass in our patio doors and a friend has recommended one company which has quoted £430.

Friend really recommends them - workmanship, customer service etc. I don't really want the hassle of organise quotes from other companies (without a recommendation) but I have no idea if this seems a reasonable price!

It seems a bit steep to me. My builder friend replaced a broken double-glazed unit for me - about 18inches x 3ft 6 - and the glass unit itself cost £35+vat. Unless you've got exceptionally large doors, I'd expect each door pane would be about 3 times that.

I don't know, but this is the price of a new panel including glass.

Perhaps there is a lot of labour or a special order involved.

Patio doors are very troublesome, so there will be at least one specialist mender in your area. A good recommendation is important.

Thanks. Each panel is around 28" by 71". I'll have a look at what glass that size actually costs to get a better idea.
