If you bought and sold, how long from the day you put your house on the market to the day you completed?

Just curious!

It took me almost exactly 5 months.

We LOVE the new place, so it was worth all the stress

About 6 weeks, mostly taken up by searches. Was during early 2008 though so market was still booming and there was no chain.

We moved last year. Put house on market 21 March. Completed and moved on 31 July, so a little over four months.

6 weeks. Scotland though. Much quicker.

Five and a half months.
Only three properties in the chain, but it still managed to be a bloody nightmare.

Most recent sale we had an offer after 3 weeks and moved 6 weeks later. No chain either end though.

House before that we put it on the market in September, got an offer in November and moved in march.

3 months, first time buyer bought ours and the people we bought from bought an empty house so quite a short chain.

From acceptance of offer until completion 7 months (torturous).

Will end up being just over 3 months, has felt like ages.

Would have been sooner but our vendor got caught up in mortgage paperwork requests which has probably caused a 2-3 week delay.

From first viewing to moving in around 3 months.

First property fell through after a month. Second (much better, glad the first one fell through) property took 3 months from offer to completion in 2008.
