Anyone willing to give me their boiler quote or a ball park figure?

We are total procrastinators, terrified of being ripped off by builders so we hardly ever get anything done !

We've had a quote from a chap who is the DH of someone my DH worked with, he put a hob in for us before. We'd trust him I think... think it was nearly 3K

(4 bed house, the sort of boiler with no tank and a step up from basic as the current one doesn't have enough flow to effectively fill the bath!).

How does this sound? Getting another quote isn't easy because of out excessive caution and the difficulty of actually having anyone in during the day!

£3.5 k in feb 2013 for new boiler, 10 new rads and complete upgrade of pipework from microbore to standard 15mm.

Checkout www.mrcentralheating.co.uk we had a Vaillant echo tech 24 and it's fab!

3 bed house, combi boiler fitted, and hotwater tank and tank in loft removed.

British Gas quoted 4K (they also wanted to fit two new radiators upstairs.)

We found someone to do the work for £1800. No new rads, replace gas pipe from boiler to.....where ever the gas comes into house. Vailant boiler and remote thermostat.

vaillant, straight swap, 2 days fitting, no new rads etc, just under 900, we bought the boiler direct at trade price and paid for fitting
