Victorian front door and fan light

My house has the original front door with 5 panels and a plain fanlight at the top. I would really like a stained glass fanlight but am not sure where to start. Also, is it possible to replace perhaps the top panel with stained glass too to allow some light in as the hall is very dark? The front door needs painting too - would a general decorator do this?

I've used www.iona-art-glass.co.uk/ and this girl Claudia Phipps - for projects requiring stained glass and both are very good.
If you want somebody in your area try here for ideas.

Oh and yes decorator should be able to do the door paint or if feeling patient and brave you could do it yourself.Wink

Try Design Glass, they just did mine and it looks beautiful. I had a whole new door and frame made by another company and Design Glass sandwiched the stained glass inside a normal double glazed unit so it's wipe clean and warm.

Did they come and measure and install it etc? :)

Just had the stained glass man round! Very excited now. I need a chippy to remove the panels (and then kind of temporarily put them back in until the new glass is installed). The stained glass man will then come and do accurate measurements and the panels and the fanlight will take less than two weeks to make and install. In the meantime, I also need a man to sand and repaint the front door too. :)

The stained glass is being installed as I type - very excited!

Of course! I'll put them on my page (when it's done and I figure out how to!). The fan light is in and it looks really old, as if it was part of the original house.
