Is there any point making an offer on a house when mine isn't on the market yet?

I am a bit stuck. My house is currently rented out. My tenants have given notice and will be moving out in a couple of months at which point I will be moving back. I want to buy another place but need to sell my house first. However I want to put the house on the market after my tenants have moved out and I have done some repairs.

I hope that makes sense! What do you think I should do?

No there's no way I would unless I had sold current house..you never know how long it will take to sell

It's so hard when you look on rightmove and see some great places :(

I know it's frustrating..if only you could afford to put money down for offer now for a new place would be fine! Where are you living at the moment? Will you be doing this through estate agents?

No creditable estate agent would tell their vendors to accept an offer from you if you aren't in a position to proceed.

In the meantime though it doesn't hurt to look at properties in your price range to get a feel for what's out there.
