New bathroom quotes

We've had a quote for a new bathroom, and I wanted to check with the collective MN wisdom to see if it sounded reasonable.

Room is approx 1.8x2m and work covers:

Remove existing suite and tiles
Relocate bath, wc and sink
Install floor tiles
Install wall tiles to ceiling
Skim and paint ceiling
Remove light fitting and replace with spotlights
Remove radiator and install towel rail.

We will provide the suite and tiles, they provide all other parts and labour.

We're been quoted £2300 for this work and this sounds worryingly cheap to my inexperienced ears! What do you think?

We're in West Yorks if that makes a difference.

TIA!

Shameless bump!

It does look very reasonable to me. Do you know what their standard of finish is like? I would want them to be eg chasing pipework into the walls, using cromed bottle trap and other nicer tap/towel rail/valve fittings, be great at tiling and good at plaster skimming.

Pictures and reviews look great. Didn't seem like a crook ... We were expecting it to be about 50% more.

We install bathrooms and we are in Kent.
That quote sounds way too cheap for my liking.

Am I guessing it is one man doing the whole lot, he is a sole trader and not VAT registered.
Check that he has insurance and ask to go and visit other customers where he has done similar work - this is perfectly normal and a good workman will have no problem linking you u with his other happy customers.

Will an electrician be doing electrics and installing an extractor?

Also you may find it is better to have someone supply and fit - for many reasons. Supply & fit is not necessarily more expensive and will often save a whole load of trauma.

Thanks Mrs - quote just says all work will be done to building regs.

I'm arranging a second quote by another local plumber/fitter.

Such a lot of money!
