Needs the local authority to come out and solve :(

How long is it likely to take, ie to get them out, solve it and then do we have to have another drainage search?

You need to give more detail.

Our buyer's surveyor said the drain was partially blocked from the front garden manhole through to the back garden manhole and the buyer refused to proceed until it was cleared, just in case it was a serious problem. A drains company looked and said the drain was shared with the neighbour, making it the water company's responsibility, so it was better for me to call the water company rather than pay the drains company. The water company came within 24 hours, removed a bit of crumbled brick which partially blocked the hole, flushed it all through and it was fine. Took about 15 minutes and cost me nothing. The surveyor had recommended CCTV to check it all afterwards but the buyer was happy without that or possibly no longer cared. This was on the verge of exchange of contracts. The buyer then pulled out for other reasons so we ended up selling to someone else and there were no issues with the drains.

I hope your drain problem is as easily solved and your buyer more reliable.Smile
