Patio replacement cost

We have a crazy paved patio which has seen better days. We'd like it removed and replaced with a sandstone patio. The kerb stones are fine and can remain. The patio is about 50 sq M (large). How much roughly would one expect this work to cost?

I just had a quote for a grey stone patio abt £50 per square meter. South London.

agree - around £45psqm upwards and upwards for basic slabs. There is a lot of work laying a patio in random pattern on sandstone and you get what you pay for. Assume £60pm therefore £3000. Its not a cheap business anymore - we quote for small works and people are shocked by the price. We bought our stone from Jewson.

Thanks. That's much as I thought. I've had one quote and it's for £6,200 plus VAT which is more than we had envisaged.
