I'm so frustrated with my solicitor!

What part of "we're in a hurry" does he not understand?
I've written two emails and he hasn't replied. Yesterday I rang him and he said he would chase up the other parties and get back to me. He hasn't. Instead I've received an email from his secretary with the results of the searches saying that he will get in touch with me to explain what they mean. Has he called yet? No.
I've also got a letter from him regarding the mortgage redemption which shows that he hasn't read one of my emails where I explained that we are porting one of the two mortgages.
I'm so Angry. What shall I do: keep nagging him or threaten to change solicitor?

It's sooo frustrating when you hear nothing.

I am in Scotland so I am not sure it was the same but when I engaged the firm doing my conveyancing, the terms of business set out a complaint procedure. Is there a practice manager or senior partner with whom you could explain your concerns, in particular why you need things to move along more quickly? In my case, my file was hived off to someone who I felt wasn't giving me good service so I raised my concerns via the head of the firm. I am not sure it changed anything in the long run (and in actual fact, I was pressing when in reality there probably really wasn't a major hurry) but I felt as if I was being heard, which helped. He even gave me his personal mobile number- I never used it but it was reassuring to have. :)
