How many offers did you give in London before you actually got your family house?

Oh boy, the competition for 400-600K houses seem to be really cutthroat in London school catchment areas!

Maybe it's time of the year in spring/early summer, but I wonder how many times did you give offer only to be outbid before you finally (or never) got your nice house near good school?

Oh I'm sorry it's unclear - what I meant was, how many houses did you give offer to before you got your home in London?

Three.

First house - offer accepted vendors pulled out and sold to cash buyers days before exchange was due to take place.

Second house - offer accepted, next day informed they had received a higher offer despite house having been on the market for six months. Then informed by agents to submit our highest offer. We weren't prepared to get into a bidding war and suspect the agents were playing us a bit so walked away.

Third house- Third time lucky! moved in four months ago love it here and glad we missed out on the other two ( now -not at the time!)

Good luck Op if you are going through the process -it can be a stressful time
