We have approximately 10 days to sell our house or we will lose the house we want to buy (along with about £3k of already incurred costs) thanks to our buyer pulling out of the process.

we are on with a local agent and although we've had around 15 viewings in the last week, we've not had any offers. I am speaking to another local agent today but aside from estate agents, are there any things I could try?

any ideas welcome!

How much do you want the house you are buying? If it won't be easy to find another are you able to drop your price and/or ask the estate agent to inform viewers that there may be a deal to be done?

will you really lose the new house? most chains accomodate this sort of thing - play hardball.

sunny I don't know what will eventually happen but they will put it back on the market if we don't find a buyer soon. how do I play hardball??

No advice but sending you positive wishes. It's a simply horrible situation - we were in the same position a couple of months ago - which is desperately unfair. I really hope things work out for you.

which area roughly are you in, OP?
do you just need to get an offer or actually exchange in ten days?

we're in Surrey, just need an alternative buyer so we are better than them putting it back on the market iyswim
