Shower cubicle recommendations

The kids need a bathroom of their own. I want to get a glass sided shower unit (3 sides glass) with a sliding glass door (as the room is too narrow for a hinged door. I want it to be quite big, say 120cm wide by 80cm deep.

My concerns are

  1. the sliding door is teenage boy proof and won't slip off the rail
  2. the tray is solid and soundproof (ish) as our bedroom is right below

Any recommendations for makes or ones to avoid appreciated.

We've just had a Mira enclosure installed. The stone resin tray is very sturdy with a good lip depth, this was a priority for us though they do a shallower one as well. The Beam range of semi framed doors and side panels is looking very good. Go to the website www.mirashowers.co.uk/showerenclosures/index.htm and go through the choosing options, there are many. Start with "help me select", then "Beam", then "corner" then you get to door options and sizes etc.

Thanks for the recommendation. I looked and they are either alcove (1 side glass ) or corner (2 sides glass). None seemed to have 3 sides glass. The frame needs to be solid enough to support the whole unit from just one wall - all of theirs rely on at least 2 walls. Did I miss something?

Sorry no, I thought you meant 3 glass panels, which my corner one is.

I did see what you are looking for though. Try googling shower cabin.

3-sided are quite hard to come by.

We ended up with a D-shaped one, curved glass with a hinged door (although I have seen them with sliding doors).

I'd be interested in the link to the D shaped one.

I found another cabin style.

I'm on my tablet at the mo, but will look up the link on my desktop tomorrow.
