Dark, dingy and loads of cobwebs

Hmm Went to see the house we are half way through buying and was a bit glum as it was way grimmer than I remember. Honestly, there were so many cobwebs it was like a haunted house!

My dp is fine with it....but now reality has sunk in that we will be living there in a short while has freaked me out.

I suppose that I have to pull myself together ad remember its a long term project, but that will be perfectly liveable after a good clean, white paint throughout and carpets in the skip. I think taking my 19 year old and seeing her face was what tipped me over the edge.

our house was like this on the second viewing.

six months on it has been transformed my fresh plaster, white paint, etc.

Cobwebs aren't permanent, and a lick of paint can work wonders!

Yes I know it's just such a shock when you are leaving a house that is beautiful and totally renovated. But that was our choice!

What I can't understand is the vendors living in house that needs a good spring clean. It weird as they are all packed and ready to go. I did wonder if they are actually staying elsewhere now as the house had no signs of life I.e beautiful sunny day and no windows opened and no garden furniture out.....spooky

Our vendors always had the curtains drawn and the windows closed too. We just couldn't understand why.

Our house is now wonderfully light and airy feeling. It's amazing what a good scrub, fresh air, fresh paint and carpets can do.

Maybe they are vampires Raven Grin

we moved into a house like that, we completed on a Friday - the removal men kept our furniture in the lorry, in their lock up until Monday - and we and cleaners, oven cleaners, carpet cleaners, gardeners spent 48 mad hours - shame its never looked as good since!

If thats all you have to do, then it's a quick and cheap make over. I'd secretly enjoy that!
