Window film on front of house?

We have to do something about the front of our house which faces directly onto the street... massive panes of window.

I think we've finally decided to fit window film but now I'm not sure how to avoid it looking a bit'bathroom'?? Will having a patterned rather than plain sheet help?

Also we're having it fitted - it will be a fiddly job and because the windows basically make up the house front any stuff ups will be highly visible and annoying...

Any advise re design? Anyone recommend a fitting service - have noticed some online companies supply and fit -anyone had experience of this?

TIA

I'd go for plain, I did find this on Google -

Frosted film

I think the patterned would make it look more barthroomy?

I've always preferred Cafe curtains.

Purl frost or other types of films are really great - we had horrible voiles in our last house (much to my horror) and then we replaced with purl frost on the bottom pane of the sash-style windows. Made SUCH a difference to the light levels and looked really good.

I agree that plain would look better than patterned.

pigletjohn i quite like cafe curtains too but it won't work with the way the front is... also dh not really a fan.

re plain only -is the key maybe not to frost all the way to the frame, ie to leave a bit of a clear border around?
thanks for comments all really appreciate it since we have now been talking in circles for bleedin' ages.

We have had it in past houses and in our current, if you haven't already take a look at brume. The gallery gives some good inspiration, i love it - very stylish imo. The stuff is easy to apply and remove but it does need 2 of you and a steady hand! Hth Smile

Tbh I think plain would look more like a bathroom than one with a pattern in it. We have ones with a cut out square, it looks lovely.

Shutters are beautiful, the only thing that puts me off is having to dust them. We have white wooden blinds with ladder tapes and they look great but they are buggers to clean!
