Help me with ideas for my soon to be blancmange lounge

Lounge has cream carpet, cream walls, cream fire place. We currently have duck egg/teal curtains at patio doors, cushions and roman blinds at three windows (which I want to keep) and oak furniture.
We currently have a chocolate brown sofa, however DH has just ordered a cream leather sofa as a surprise for me (have been moaning about out 2 seater as it has collapsed and you end up rolling into the middle).
I don't want to sound ungrateful but our lounge is now going to look like a blancmange so I need to change the wall colour I think, maybe to a warmer beige / natural colour ?
Did consider a feature wall but think this might be to fussy and I can't find a paper I like ?
Any ideas please, as husband in useless and thinks it will be fine as it is Hmm (I have put a couple of pictures on my profile)

Can't you change the order to the right colour? It seems a bit daft to order something like that without a discussion. Painting to resolve it seems back to front. Unless of course you fancied a change anyway.

I thought your lounge was Barbie/Jordan Pink. Duckegg walls?

To put it a bit bluntly, it already looks quite bland, and a cream sofa will make it look even more neutral than it is.

What about a lovely rug?

Or some art on the walls?

The wallpaper idea is a good one - perhaps you just need to keep looking.

A rug and a feature wall where the fireplace is would definitely lift the place. I know it can be really hard finding a nice wallpaper, but I think I would keep looking.

Or you could paint all the walls and then the cream carpet and sofa and fireplace won't disappear like it does at the moment.

Next do a really lovely light teal colour called Spa Retreat which isn't too dark (although the coverage is useless, so I would try and find a similar shade from a different make!!).

Decorating always feels so hard because you have to be sure you love it!!

LastButOneSplash we did bat the idea around a bit, can see why another brown sofa is a silly idea.

Deepfriedsage Have I missed something !

SanityClause I quite like bland, I like the art decco style. That rug is vile and is not entering my house. Maybe I could find one I do like.

Dolallytats I will have a look at that colour sounds nice, I think I need go buy some testers.

The only wallpaper I have found is cream and duck egg from Laura Ashley, but I think it needs another colour, like a warmer biege/natural colour but everythign I find is way too flowery.

I actually love your lounge and think the sofa will look fab!

You could paint a feature wall in a soft duck egg rather than paper then put a mirror on it to reflect the cram opposite making an interesting feature. The fire wall lends itself to being painted as it will make the fire pop even more
