Would it be worthwhile to hire a wallpaper stripper?

Asking this on Twitter just got lots of fnaar fnaar type answers, so hoping for some expert advice

I have 2 days to strip lining lpaper off walls and ceilings of 2 bedrooms. Have been working all morning and haven't even got round half of one room. It's coming off ok with Kaercher and lots of stream but taking ages.

Plasterer coming at weekend so have to get it done before then.

Have you ever hired a professional big wallpaper stripper and was it worthwhile.

the best way to take off paper if your skimming after is just score it all with a stanley knife
use a squirt bottle and soak the walls, wait by the time you have gone round the room where you started will be ok to start on.
this will do top layer and then do the same with the underlining (sticky stuff)
were doing it now and taking a few hours per room. Let the water do the work.
you want one of these

Tried both those tricks and it was still a nightmare. Decided to give the steamer a go.

Best £30 I've spent all year.

Took me 3 hrs this morning to do 1 1/2 walls. Done the rest in just over an hour.

The final couple of strips didn't even need to touch with the steamer as there was so much steam in the room that it was coming off already. Ceiling is already hanging down a bit.

Reckon I might get both bedrooms done today - I was going to hire someone to give me a hand to get finished in time for the plasterers but that might not be necessary.
