Terminating letting agent contract, keeping current tenants, do we need a new tenancy agreement?

We have had our current tenants for over a year. They are lovely, have caused no problems, kept the property well etc.

Our letting agent on the other hand have been disastrous so we have given notice to them and are going to be managing the property ourselves from next month.

The tenants signed a renewed contract in March. There are three tenants and one moved out a new one moved in (friend of the other two).

Is this contract still valid? I think that as it is between us and the tenants it should be ok, even though it was issued by the letting agent.

Also, we are reducing the rent a bit. If the TA is still valid, can I just give then written notice of the change in rent as an amendment to the contract?
