Remember the thread with the not very good estate agent photos?

Well I've just seen a house on rightmove with some really not too good ones here Partly it's because the vendors haven't decluttered but some of the angles are awful, there's shadows everywhere, one is blurred and what the heck is that in the corner of the bathroom picture......? If that was my house I would be asking for them to take another go!

Nice house though in basics.

That's nicer than the ones I have been looking at in NW and much cheaper! I keep wishing the Secret Agent would be let loose round me to sort them out!

NorthernLurker · 26/05/2013 21:12

Yes it's a good house - but tha photo of the loo cracks me up everytime I look at it!

They really like blue don't they Grin

FannyFifer · 26/05/2013 22:38

What's funny about the loo?

NorthernLurker · 26/05/2013 23:02

It's photo 14 - it's just so dark and miserable and all you can see is the loo!

Crumbs, if that's your idea of not having decluttered, I dread to think what our place will look like when it's put on the market.

KnockMeDown · 27/05/2013 09:49

I think I must be missing something - clicked on the link, looked at all the pics, and all I saw was a nice looking house. The pics look quite realistic to me. Round our way we have an estate agent for taking excessively wide angle shots to make rooms seem much larger than they are, but it just makes all the walls look concave!

Anyoneforacuppa · 27/05/2013 10:10

I thought it was alright actually. I was looking the other day - what is it with all these weird angles on photos. And spotted this - a picture of their toilet roll (photo 7) and what on earth is that in photo 17? Confused

Davey thingy from Pirates mask in photo 17... The pic of the toilet roll is odd though.

Selba · 27/05/2013 10:25

Anyoneforacuppa, that's hilarious. And not one but two shots of the towel on the end of the bed. Nice.

ivykaty44 · 27/05/2013 10:27

they like blue paint in the first house

mervynmouse · 27/05/2013 10:29

A dehydrated octopus in a pirate hat? Bizarre! My mum had some terrible photos taken of her house, the best being the only bathroom photo (there are 2 nice bathrooms) which was a close up shot of just the sink, featuring a can of her beloved Elnett hairspray. Shock

NorthernLurker · 27/05/2013 11:25

I agree it's a nice house, just the photos don't do it justice.

That loo roll shot in the second house is very odd. I think the agents must just snap away and upload without checking - but why don't the vendors ask them to try again.

Honestly Northern, the houses in York are mostly all so lovely that it's impossible to make them look bad! Wink

How about this one? The bright paintwork seems to have b*ggered up the camera's contrast control, so half the pics are whited out; but my particular favourite is the shot of the dustbins! Grin

Or this one. You know there's not much to recommend the inside of a house, when so many photos are taken outside, but that bathroom shot is a classic!

And I'm fond of photos 4 and 6 here which were presumably taken by an EA with a passion for household appliances!

rumbelina · 29/05/2013 12:58

I saw this one the other day. Dreadful! Blurred, dark, they didn't even make the bed. It's for rental rather than for sale but still...

MrsLyman · 29/05/2013 13:23

Wow you lot are fussy, atlhough they do all look like they were taken on a camera phone! I did giggle loudly when I got the Andrex packet.

newpup · 29/05/2013 13:36

rumblelina those are awful! Is somebody actually in that bed! Shock

HaveToWearHeels · 30/05/2013 20:43

rumbelina this is exactly why we never market a property until the tenants have moved out lol

flow4 · 30/05/2013 22:23

rumbelina, you definitely win!! Grin

JoyceDivision · 30/05/2013 22:28

That's why dh took all ourphotos, colour enhanced them and, ahe, patched up the turf on the lawn, and emailed them for the estate agents to use!

Zingzilla · 30/05/2013 23:04

They could have moved the rubber gloves...

See photo 8. Comes in handy just in case loo roll runs out...

ItsYonliMe · 31/05/2013 04:54

Rumbelina - picture 3, is that a coffee mug/pot beside the toilet?

I don't like photos of loos when the lid is open - is it only me?

Rulesgirl · 31/05/2013 05:05

I cant see anything wrong with the house or the pictures. There fine and the house is very decluttered and shows just the right amount of family stuff to make it look liveable and so you can imagine yourself in there.
