How does the estate agent get paid?

I'm selling my house, it will (hopefully) all be completed within the month. How does the EA get paid - do they invoice me or do the solicitors sort it out?

The solicitors will pay them directly IIRC. All your costs (house price, stamp duty, EA fees, solicitors fees, bank fees) will get deducted by the solicitor from the proceeds and you will then be sent the balance.
