Are metro tiles passé now?

If so, what tiles do you think for a kitchen?

It's a pine kitchen which I'm not mad on but can't afford to change. It's got multicoloured square tiles all along the stove and other parts.

I thought cream metro tiles would calm it down a bit.

They might be passé but I think that metro tiles are rather nice. If you like them, go for it.

Some would probably say so but we like them and will be having them in our kitchen in a few weeks.
